Corfu, Greece’s emerald island
Only a 3 days trip on this extremely gorgeous island of Corfu but I have wished it would have been more than that as it is such a beauty!
We booked a room at the Eleals Hotel, which is a very nice modern and clean hotel. We booked this one as it wasn’t too expensive nor too cheap and it had breakfast included and it was perfect for what we planned to visit. We have also rented a car so we can travel around the island easily.
The first stop was Agios Gordios beach. It has an amazing beach with tavernas and beautiful emerald water. Also on the way to the beach, there is a viewpoint and I highly recommended you to stop there as the scenery is stunning! The beach has sunbeds that you have to pay for but not so expensive it was like 10 euro one sunbed and it includes a drink.
The next day we to Paleokastritsa beach. Tip – drive all the way down and don’t get tricked by all the cars stopped on the hill as you will find parking close to the beach. The beach was a bit crowded when we arrived, was around noon but we managed to find some free sunbeds. You can also find your own spot on the beach if don’t wish to pay for sunbeds. The water is crystal clear and near the rock, you can snorkel and see cute little fishes we also saw a starfish! By the end of the day, we also visited the Paleokastritsa Monastery. It was peaceful and had an amazing view of the beach. The entrance is free but donations are welcomed. U can also buy eco oil and wine!
The last day we found a beach closer to the city, Benitses as I had the flight later on that day. Also sometimes traffic to the airport might be jammed so take precautions to be there a few hours before your flight! Also, the airport is quite small and will take a few more minutes than expected to get through the control gates!
As restaurants, we found a beautiful restaurant on the sea it is called Kaiser Bridge! It had lovely food and amazing views over the sunset. I highly recommend the fish if you go there! For this one, you might need a booking so make sure you call them if you want yo have dinner there.
Another nice Taverna we’ve been to is called Avra on the Beach and this one as the name says it is on the beach and has traditional Greek food. It is a very cute summer like a greek tavern. I again highly recommend trying the octopus it is just perfect! I also had pork gyros and greek salad! Omg it was sooo good !!
And to sum up, here is a little video I have taken from this beautiful emerald Island. Enjoy!
